Growing in Faith

Growing in Faith

Join us for our upcoming study series:

To love and live for Christ means first accepting Jesus’ love for me—that God made me and redeemed me as a whole human person, body and soul. This means that each of us must learn how to balance a love for the body’s goodness with an appreciation for its limitations. But because the body and soul are highly integrated, this is can be confusing: How do I live a spiritual life as an embodied creature? How do I love Jesus when faced with weakness and turbulence in mind and body?

This fall, St. Thomas Aquinas University Parish is offering a 10-talk series on the goodness of the human body. Throughout this series, Fr. Nicholas Hartman, O.P., will offer discussion on how the body relates to Christian morality and spirituality—on the soul-body union, human emotions, sexuality, and frailty, as well as the body’s role in the development of virtue. These talks will begin on September 17.

SESSION ONE: Sundays, 10:20-11:15AM

SESSION TWO: Sundays, 6:30-7:30PM

Hounds of the Lord Men's Ministry

“As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” (Psalm 27:17)

We are a men’s small group that meets Saturday mornings before mass to share in study, prayer, and brotherhood. If you are interested in joining us, please stop by a meeting (7:15AM in the Old Library, every Saturday excluding holiday weekends) or reach out to Domenic Puzio ([email protected]).

We also host quarterly events for the men of the parish. This winter, we invite you to a retreat day at St. Thomas on January 20th, 2024 from 8:30AM to 1PM.
